Whether you’re arriving for your first term, returning after the holidays, moving out at the end of the academic year, or travelling home for a weekend, we can help make your journey simple and comfortable.
Student Airport Transfers in Cambridge
For international and UK students, the journey often starts or ends at an airport.
CamX Cab provides pre-booked airport transfers between Cambridge and major London-area airports, including:
- Heathrow Airport
- Gatwick Airport
- Stansted Airport
- Luton Airport
Booking your taxi in advance means you can arrange your journey around your flight schedule and avoid the uncertainty of finding transport after landing.
For airport pickups, always provide your flight number when booking. This allows the journey to be properly planned around your flight information.
Flight Tracking for Airport Pickups
Flights can be delayed, diverted or arrive earlier than expected. CamX Cab offers real-time flight tracking for airport pickup journeys.
This helps your driver stay informed about your flight and prepare for your arrival.
After your flight lands, up to one hour of waiting time is included at no additional charge. Additional waiting is charged at £15 per 30 minutes.
This can be particularly helpful for students arriving after a long international journey, especially when collecting luggage or passing through airport procedures takes longer than expected.

For students unfamiliar with Cambridge, arranging transportation with a local driver can make moving between locations easier.
CamX Cab provides student transfers for journeys such as:

- Airport to student accommodation
- College-to-college travel
- Cambridge accommodation transfers
- University event transportation
- Long-distance journeys home

Moving to Cambridge With Your Luggage?
Starting university often means travelling with more luggage than usual.
Suitcases, backpacks, boxes and personal belongings can make public transport difficult, particularly when travelling from an airport.
A pre-booked private taxi gives you a direct journey from your pickup point to your destination without having to navigate multiple trains, buses or changes with heavy luggage.
Our premium vehicles provide comfortable space for students and their belongings, subject to vehicle and luggage requirements.
If you have several large bags or unusual luggage, let us know when booking so we can help arrange an appropriate vehicle.
Student Move-In and Move-Out Transfers
The beginning and end of university terms can be particularly busy.
Students may need to travel between:
Home → Cambridge accommodation
or:
Cambridge accommodation → Airport → Home
CamX Cab offers advance bookings for these important journeys.
Planning your transfer ahead of time can make the process easier, particularly when you have a flight to catch or a fixed university arrival time.
For move-in and move-out days, we recommend booking as early as possible.
Travelling Home During University Holidays
Students don’t only need transportation when starting university.
Throughout the academic year, you may need to travel home for:
- Christmas holidays
- Easter holidays
- Summer holidays
- Reading weeks
- Family occasions
- Personal appointments
- Weekend visits
- International flights
CamX Cab can provide long-distance taxi journeys from Cambridge to destinations across the UK.
Instead of coordinating multiple forms of public transport with luggage, a private taxi provides a direct and comfortable alternative.

For parents bringing their children to university, the journey can be just as important as the destination.
